Learning Forward Tennessee ~ an affiliate of Learning Forward
The purpose of Learning Forward Tennessee is to:
• provide awareness for and leadership in effective staff development;
• provide up-to-date information based on assessed needs, current research, and state/national trend;
• promote effective models of staff development that improve student learning;
• provide the opportunity through networking to share expertise and resources;
• promote the standards of effective staff development as defined by the Learning Forward (formerly NSDC).
The purpose of Learning Forward Tennessee is to promote the development of educational personnel in order to improve student learning by providing leadership, by modeling and disseminating effective staff development practices and by serving as the state network for individuals and organizations responsible for growth of others.
Publishing Opportunity for K-12 Teachers: Learning Forward Tennessee is seeking action research papers from K-12 teachers that aim to improve the quality of student learning, especially those that document the use of instructional strategies and academic or behavioral interventions. Learning Forward Tennessee believes such research is vital to continuous professional growth and improvement, as it fosters reflective practice. By conducting action research, teachers have a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing body of knowledge about what is working in K-12 classrooms. All K-12 research topics are welcome.
